Agony in Houston

June 25, 2007 / by rcalvarezgalloso

After the US Victory in the Copa Oro, I switched the channels in the telly for the Houston Dynamos VS Kansas City Wizards.

The game was an exercise in mental anguish and torture as the game lacked the electric charge that existed in the Copa Oro. It is incredible that this was the same Houston Dynamos that scored four goals against Chivas USA. While Houston Dynamos managed to score one goal within the last twenty minutes of the game, the event appeared to be an exercise in fatigue.

The TV Announcer was talking about "Houston squeezing petroleum out of Kansas City" yet it appeared like drops of petroleum in a bucket. When a football game is being played, there has to be a surge in activity with a burning desire to play. President Evo Morales of Bolivia and a group of footballers played better in the high altitudes than the players of Houston and Kansas City.

My anger was tempered with a reality check that maybe Houston and Kansas City were not playing well because of an inherent heat wave in Kansas City.
